Being tired is a normal part of a busy day. It a normal response to physical exertion, mental strain, stress or lack of energy.
However, sleepiness, especially during the daytime, is not normal.
If you are tired all day long, you may be suffering from excessive daytime sleepiness, and should see your Doctor to determine the cause of your sleepiness and potential treatment. Your Doctor may refer you to a Sleep Centre for a home-based sleep study to assist in your diagnosis.
Sleep disorders affect approximately 24% of men and 9% of women in Australia, although up to 80% are undiagnosed. Patients with sleep disorders have a 7-fold higher risk of heart disease!
